Do not exercise : Too vigorously. Try to find out what triggered what triggered the pain and avoid that. May take Advil/ Tylenol (acetaminophen) to help with pain. Ice and hear application will help along with assuage therapy of you have time. ...Read more

Muscle Spasm: Trigger points are bands of taut muscle areas that hurt when pressed upon and radiate to other areas than just the painful spot that is pressed upon. Most times stretching and massage of that area relieves these spots, however sometime they continue and need to be addressed by your doctor. Hematoma: Patty, This is probably a hematoma, or a blood collection in the thigh. These are caused by trauma, and can take several weeks to resolve completely. The fact that you are not completely better is not unheard of. Elevation and Ice (I prefer bagged frozen peas) should offer relief. If your symptoms worsen or don't improve, see your doctor. Many causes of limp: Toddlers can have limp for many reasons. Sometimes a hip joint effusion or fluid can cause pain from trauma or virus. Toddler fractures are not always apparent on radiograph or not recognized. Most common fractures are nondisplaced spiral fx of tibia, calcaneal fx, cuboid bone fx, and fx first metatarsal. Difference: A sprain is a stretch and/or tear of a ligament. A strain is an injury to a muscle and/or tendons.
