Needs to be checked: It is very difficult for us to answer what has been causing sharp excruciating pain in your ear for more than a year
You need to consult an ENT Specialist who will take a detailed history like what other if any symptoms are and if there is hearing loss.history of wax build up. Past history of any ENT problems etc. And a thorough exam of your ear, nose and throat to find the cause

Not from the tubes: Very unlikely the ear pain you are getting has anything to do with the tubes you had as a child. Most like cause is strain of the tempromandibulr joint (tmj).
