Moderate inner ear pain all day, severe at night. Ent says no fluid, infection or tmj. No OTCs work, have to take 3tramadol and 2BCs. What could this b?

Hey sorry its late but I need some answers, for a little over a year and a half I have had sharp excruciating inner ear pain that comes and goes?

It is very difficult for us to answer what has been causing sharp excruciating pain in your ear for more than a year
You need to consult an ENT Specialist who will take a detailed history like what other if any symptoms are and if there is hearing loss.history of wax build up. Past history of any ENT problems etc. And a thorough exam of your ear, nose and throat to find the cause

See a physician: Unfortunately, there are many conditions that can cause those symptoms, from very mild (like ear infections, sinus infections, etc.) to more serious. Balance and dizziness problems are often due to conditions in the inner ear, but not always. It also depends what you are doing at the time (rest, with activity, etc.). Headache and anxiety: I'm sorry you're having these symptoms and it's very difficult to determine the true cause without examining you. It would appear that with the headaches and the tingling this may be anxiety more than anything else at your age. You have a feeling of pain and wetness which I do not understand. Not from the tubes: Very unlikely the ear pain you are getting has anything to do with the tubes you had as a child. Most like cause is strain of the tempromandibulr joint (tmj). Reffered pain: If the pain isn't from the ear it is possibly a structure that is nearby the ear. This is called referred pain. It sounds like you may have Swimmer's Ear (otitis externa), which is an infection of the ear canal, caused by water in the ear, making a good environment for bacteria and fungus to grow.
