2 problems: It sounds like you could have at least 2 separate problems, one of which magnifies the other. Inner ear infections can cause dizziness, & anxiety can produce dizziness too. Work stress and feeling overloaded may increase anxiety as well. Your family doctor can surely treat your ear infection, but a psychiatrist and/or psychologist can provide more focused evaluation & treatment of anxiety. ...Read more

Ear infection: Middle ear infections can cause pain and dizziness, and maybe a feeling of "brain fog" when acute. As you recover, these symptoms should subside. Muscle tension and anxiety are not usually features of ear infections, and could be features of generalized anxiety disorder or possibly others.
