Get blood test: If you have a positive result on a correctly done urine, test, it is prudent that you get a blood test for HCG level to confirm or rule out pregnancy. Unless proven otherwise, a positive urine test after a missed period should be considered as diagnostic of pregnancy. For the sake of your and your potential baby's health, you should seek medical care. ...Read more
It's it safe to take zofran (ondansetron) during pregnancy? Pharmacist had told me no, but they were really pushing it in the ER today
Zofran (ondansetron): There is a slight risk of cleft palate or lip associated with zofran (ondansetron). In general, I have stopped using it unless the pateint is over 14 weeks gestation. However, if nausea and vomitting of pregnancy is severe you can have real problems associated with it, so it still will be used for severe nausea and vomitting. Talk to your OB before making a decision. Your pharmacist isn't an OB expert. ...Read more
Took Zofran (ondansetron) throughout my pregnancy and delivered a baby girl... now Zofran (ondansetron) is being recalled due to birth defects. What do I do should I be worried?

That being said, if you gave birth to a healthy baby girl all you need to do is enjoy her and not worry - any birth defects that have been pointed at zofran (ondansetron) (but not scientifically proven) would have been noted after birth. ...Read more

She would know better than anyone else what to eat, when to eat, how much to eat. As a general rule, don't mix liquid food with solid, eat or drink little at a time, and in early pregnancy don't force food that your mother-in-law says its good for you unless you like it. ...Read more

Midwife missed my anti d injection in previous prg I didn't know I was RH-What are the side effects with this pregnancy? Will baby and me be ok?
It depends: To answer your question, you will need to get a blood test called an ANTIBODY SCREEN. If there are no Rh antibodies seen in this test, then missing the anti-D injection last time did not cause any harm. There will be no side effects and you and the baby will be fine. If there are antibodies present, then the baby is at risk and you will need to be followed by a high risk ob specialist. ...Read more
