Injecting Meth And Missing Vein Numbness
Had many ultrasound guided nerve blocks injected into inner ankle today. No numbness. In past, no numbness from femoral nerve block or epidural. Why?
Why do abscesses occur months after the stopping of IV usage in arm veins? Re-occurring abscesses in arm veins
Abscesses : Abscesses are the result of chronic bacterial infections in the dermis that rupture through the skin to release their infected contents (pus). They are more frequently acquired in patients who have immune deficiencies such as hiv/aids, diabetes, cancers, other coexistent inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, are malnourishment. They can be acquired from minor trauma to the skin such as squeezing a pimple, a retained splinter, or repeated body piercing , skin popping drugs and even from a clean hospital acquired iv. One of the most notorious offenders is methicillin resistant staph aureus mrsa. As the name applies this bacteria is resistant to most standard antibiotics and tends to colonize your skin, nasal cavity, groin and axilla. If you have had to have multiple sessions of IV administered therapies it is likely you may be suffering from a chronic debilitating disease and you have been exposed to hospital or clinic environments where MRSA is frequently found. You need to check with your physician about this specific problem and avoid any unsafe practices. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My daughters arm bruised pretty bad from donating plasma. Tech missed vein and injected saline into her muscle tissue. I'm worried about bruising?
Pinched nerve 1yr ago/lost most of lft tricept..Still have little feeling in 3 fingers..Can I rebuild arm/& will numbness stop?
There is a chance: Since you are still able to feel it, the nerve is still functional. I am not sure if you already had injection/therapy, or nerve decompression surgery done yet. If you have not had the surgery, you may need this done to regain your tricep. Don't wait too long because the neuropathy (degeneration of the nerve) maybe irreversible. Consult doc. Good luck. ...Read more

Can a non occlusive thrombus keep clotting while taking xarelto? Achy pains and pulled muscle feelings on left side of body and leg where clot is?
Clot retraction: A clot under treatment can grow if there is a failure of treatment. There are indeed some people who still can clot under any of our treatments, not one treatment is 100% effective in 100% of people. The pain may be just a continuation of what was there to start with and may not completely go away simply with clot resolution. Talk to your doctor for treatment. ...Read more
Hard, swollen cord/rope-like vein (I think great saphenous vein)along whole leg. Can only go to GP in 2 days.So terrified of DVT/other serious problem?
Superficial clot.: What you describe sounds like a clotted greater saphenous vein. This would present as a palpable cord along anywhere from the medial ankle to the upper thigh. This is called superficial phlebitis but there is always a chance that this can extend into the deep system to cause DVT. You should have a venous ultrasound and see a vein specialist as soon as possible or go to the ER for evaluation. ...Read more

After dental implant surgery and my inferior alveolar nerve injured... I'ts been about 3 1\2 months and i'm starting to get some of the feeling back, ?
That's good news: Much of the likelihood of getting feeling back from this type of injury is dependent on the extent of the damage. Hopefully you will get more and more of the ability to feel as time goes on. You may even get 100% of the feeling back and i hope that you do. If not then hopefully you will manage. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What would cause "power surge" feeling thru r hand & fingers, after c4-7 d&fusion? Then numbness along r side of middle finger?
Nerve irritation: Compression of nerves or the spinal cord can cause the symptoms you describe. This compression may be residual, related to your preoperative condition, or new, possibly from disc protrusion or bone spurs. Finally, even after adequate decompression there may be residual nerve irritation. A ct or MRI scan should help with this diagnosis. ...Read more
My tendons and nerves of right thumb are diagnosed to be cut in an accident? How successful are hand surgeries in restoring the dexterity?
Excellent: Anticipate approximately 80-90 % return of sensation with successful nerve repair. Tendon repair without complication of adhesion or rupture should return full range of motion.
