Ingrown Hair Folliculitis
What do you suggest if my pubic hair is extremely coarse and prone to ingrown hair and folliculitis with waxing while my skin is fair?
Avoid waxing !: If you have ingrown hairs try not to wax, shave or pluck hairs until healed. This can often heal without treatment. Your physician can prescribe medication to clear dead skin cells (retinoids). Steroids may be used for significant inflammation & antibiotics may be considered if the area has become infected. ...Read more

Often, a hair may turn into the channel out of which it should grow, and penetrates the skin, causing swelling and irritation. This may happen because of blockage or with very curly hair. Can you explain to me the syntoms of herpes & what is the difference between a ingrown hair & herpes?
Look different...: Herpes is caused by a virus and has a very distinct appearance. It looks like tiny red rimmed ulcerations in clusters. It is very painful. Folliculitis occurs in hair follicles. So every place where it hurts there will be a hair follicle. Folliculitis hurts but nothing like herpes. Herpes doesn't have hair follicles coming out of the ulcerations like folliculitis. Best wishes! ...Read more

This could also be a folliculitis or a small cyst forming, again, hard to say. See you doc or do a video consult here on HealthTap to confirm. ...Read more
I have ingrown hair in my pubic area so i let them grow out, now their is few bumps but a lot of the hair are paired together to grow, should I rip them?

Let the hairs grow out and don't cut them or pluck them. If you do, they will stick in the side of the skin and cause inflammation, pimples, and cysts. If some are sticking back into the skin try to pull the end free. ...Read more
I have a ingrown hair and the bump popped. Some white stuff came out of it. Some blood came out. What to do to it.
Folliculitis: An ingrown hair will cause local inflammation and infection at the hair follicle base. This condition is called folliculitis. A raised, red, tender pustule develops with usual spontaneous expression of purulent material as you described. Warm compresses and good hygiene advised. It can be related to your razor blade and shaving techniques. Seek medical advice for persistent problems. ...Read more
