What's the best way to remove an ingrown hair on my neck? Crusty skin keeps growing on top of it, and picking away at it is just making it worse.
Ingrown hairs: Wikipedia has a very nice illustrated set of treatment steps at: http://www. Wikihow. Com/remove-an-ingrown-hair. Usually ingrown hairs are not difficult to treat and will go away on their own if left alone. From the difficulties you are describing I would be suspicious that something else might be going on, either an infection needing antibiotics, or something like a skin cancer. Read more

Hey there so I recently noticed this red bump on my neck. I am not 100% sure if it is a ingrown hair or a boil? And has a lump under it forming.

I have a growth or lump on right side just above Adams apple. I thought it was an ingrown hair, but it hasn't gone away. No pain. Thyroid nodules?
Have it evaluated: Is the mass firm, or soft? Mobile or fixed? It could be any number of things, however, if it is new and is concerning, you should probably have it evaluated by your primary care physician first. It could be just a simple cyst, in which case an office based excision will take care of the problem. Read more
Ear pain but urgent care said no infection, ingrown hair, or swelling. My throat looked norm as well. Hurts in ear when I swallow or suck a straw.
If the pain persists: Consider seeing your dentist. Sometime pain from a tooth problem can radiate up to the ears. You may also be having eustachian tube dysfunction, which is when these tubes, which connect the back of your throat to your middle ear, are not draining fluid or equalizing pressure properly. Take some ibuprofen or acetaminophen for the weekend and see the dentist and your own doctor when they are available. Read more

I have a knot on the back right side of my head. First appeared to be like a ingrown hair. Mashed it and clear liquid came out.
Cyst: Simple cysts can appear when the fluid of a hair follicle becomes trapped. As the fluid builds up it creates a soft mass. Squeezing it can release the fluid. If it is foul odor then this may be a sebacous cyst. Cysts recur and can become infected. A simple procedure in your doctors office can remove it. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
