I have had infrequent bowel movements for the past year. I've tried fibre, laxatives, Metamucil.. But it doesn't help me. What do I do ?

Miralax (polyethylene glycol): constipation is common and a frustrating symptoms it is defined by more than just frequency of stools. if stools are not hard and no straining than going several days is not the issue. if you have symptoms though I would try miralax (polyethylene glycol) (its otc), plenty of water and regular exercise. ...Read more

Maybe not related...: "Transfer dysphagia" is a problem moving the food bolus from your mouth to the top of the esophagus; "transit dysphagia" is a problem transiting the food down the esophagus. Motility studies (modified barium swallow; esophageal manometry) may be helpful in identifying pathology or spasm. Blood in stool: The combination of blood in the stool with accompanying mucus is possibly suggestive of some form of inflammation of the colon, or colitis.
