Possibly...: Water retention tablets (or diuretics) that you got from the doctor or in supplement form shouldn't cause big fluctuations in your hemoglobin. Collateral damage: Most actions have unintended (sometimes unknown) effects. Drugs are a prime example - side effects. If you can solve your heartburn in another way, that would be good. Can a high carb - low fat diet cause water retention even though on a caloric deficit? Its weird I gained 6 pounds in the first 3 days!!!!

Phenothiazine: This medication is a phenothiazine class antihistaminic antipsychotic medication. Medications of this type have historically been known to cause weight gain by appetite stimulation. Finding data on side effects of this medication proved quite difficult online. There was some information about metabolic syndrome cases but I did not see anything that had to do with edema.
