See ophthalmologist: A schrimer test of 5mm means that your cornea is drying out significantly as the normal should be around 15mm. Mild chemical injuries to the eye are usually transient and as tissue heals, the lubricating ability of the eye should slowly be restored. However the only way to be certain is to see an Ophthalmologist who would examine your eyes thoroughly to ensure no permanent damage has been caused. ...Read more

This is concerning: A tooth infection that has spread to adjacent unrelated areas can be a sign of a potential big problem. She really needs to find help. Start on an antibiotic... Perhaps Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) 500 mg 4x per day if there is a pharmacy there. Otherwise pull the tooth and remove the source of the infection. ...Read more

Can Pataday help with your dry eyes if caused by allergies? I heard that it helps with inflammation so you can produce/release tears better?

Pataday is for: seasonal allergies affecting the eyes not for dry eyes. It doesn't have anti-inflammatory effects, but more anti-histaminic effects that may secondarily reduce the allergic symptoms like inflammation, but it's not a steroid.
