Swollen gland under back of jaw tender slightly inflamed no other symptoms over 2 months non responsive to 3 diff meds. Can this be something serious?
Can pneumonia and antibiotics along with tylenol (acetaminophen) affect cbc and enlarged spleen and swollen lymph nodes? Doc thinks it can be anemic lymphoma
Many moving parts: The type of infectious organism will affect the cbc in various ways, usually causing an increase in neutrophils. Can affect lymphocytes and monocytes as well. The enlarged spleen may sequester immune cells or destroy red cells decreasing the numbers in the cbc. Hard to say: What you are describing sounds like it could be an infected cyst, but would need to be evaluated in the office. If it were a cyst, the best course of action would be antibiotics and warm compresses until the infection had resolved.
