Can pneumonia and antibiotics along with tylenol (acetaminophen) affect cbc and enlarged spleen and swollen lymph nodes? Doc thinks it can be anemic lymphoma

Many moving parts: The type of infectious organism will affect the cbc in various ways, usually causing an increase in neutrophils. Can affect lymphocytes and monocytes as well. The enlarged spleen may sequester immune cells or destroy red cells decreasing the numbers in the cbc. Depending on the antibiotic with Tylenol, (acetaminophen) either red cells, platelets or neutrophils can be destroyed (but rarely). (see comment) ...Read more

Hard to say: What you are describing sounds like it could be an infected cyst, but would need to be evaluated in the office. If it were a cyst, the best course of action would be antibiotics and warm compresses until the infection had resolved. An excision, or removal, of the cyst could then be performed in order to decrease the likelihood of recurrence. Cysts tend to come back otherwise. ...Read more

I was on keflex for an infection in my groin lymph nodes. Antibiotics done. Throat glands are swollen with cold like symptoms 2 days off keflex. Cause?

Swollen lymph nodes: Generally persistent swelling means the first treatment didn't work (wrong drug, wrong problem, wrong duration, poorly taken) but when it's different nodes it suggests something more widespread than a local infection. Severe sinusitis, taking cefdinir 600mg. Sinuses blocked by tonsils and other inflammation/grey areas on CT Scan. What symptoms should I keep eye on?

Severe Sinusitis: Hello, your sinus CT report is somewhat confusing. Tonsils are located in the back of the oral cavity and the sinuses drain into the nasal cavity.
