Antibiotics: Best treated with oral antibiotics if the area is red, painful, and swollen. As an adjunct, local heat would help. If there is any trapped pus (like a pimple) then opening that pocket so it could drain would be helpful. Pathology report?: A common cause of bloody nipple discharge is a benign papilloma. Most times, the duct has to be excised to remove the papilloma both to see if there is cancer present and to stop the bloody discharge.
