My daughter has red itchy bumps on her arms and feet. What could be the cause? She was diagnosed with a staph infection but the bumps persist. Bed bugs were mentioned but she is the only person being bitten. Could this be an allergic reaction to something

This : This is tough to answer without a picture. There are several possibilities including bites (fleas or other), eczema or allergic contact dermatitis, lichen planus, folliculitis (staph infection), and others. I doubt bed bugs given the location. I would recommend you try a moisturizer such as cerave cream twice daily and if not better after a few days consider a trip to the dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment options. Bites are common in kids so that is certainly a possibility. If they are bites, avoidance plus a steroid gel might be beneficial. I hope that helps. ...Read more

Probably not yeast: These are not the typical sites for yeast infection and thus it is likely from something else. Pregnancy itself can be associated with unusual skin rash which should subside within 30 days after delivery. If the problem persists and not helped by topical cortisone, see your doctor or a dermatologist. ...Read more

Can very dry skin cause red itchy bumps that look like bug bites? I'm getting sporadic red itchy bumps on face it's very dry and itchy!

Yes: Skin that is very dry can develop irritation. The best treatment would probably be to use a cream that is both an exfoliant and emollient. I generally recommend either a lactic or a glycolic acid cream to help get rid of the dry, rough skin. http://www.OmahaCosmeticSurgery.com ...Read more

I woke up with an itchy rash all over my body except my face and genitals. It started as tiny red bumps, now some are a little bigger, still red. ?

More details: This can be a drug reaction, a viral infection, or the onset of a new skin condition. Given the scanty history and description, I would suggest that you try taking antihistamine to see if it helps. If the itching is intolerable or the rash is getting worse, need to see your doctor. ...Read more

Waxing: Can cause physical irritation to the delicate skin on your face and lead to what you got, but calm down, wash your face with cream soap and moisturize your face well, OTC hydrocortisone cream 1%, on affected areas, avoid near eye/eyelids, for a day or so together with OTC antihistamine, avoid driving if it makes you drowsy, if it doesn't improve in a day or so, see your doctor, be careful waxing , ...Read more
