I suspect I may have fungal infection of scalp and waiting for culture, but they only took hair samples, not a scraping- will it still show anything?

Cats can carry Ringworm. Ringworm is not a worm but a fungal infection. The lesion is a raised, scaly, and itchy rash. There is usually a bald spot where the infection occurs. See your Doctor for treatment.
