Top right gum is swollen & painful. It's near the wisdom teeth & right above one tooth which had root canal procedure. Is it infection or gum disease?

Could be either: A localized infection in that area of gums is difficult to diagnose without and exam and an X-ray . It is possible that the tooth with the RCT is failing and you have an infection associated with that tooth. Or, possibly, the tissue around the wisdom tooth is infected from food impaction or eruption . See your dentist for a definitive diagnosis ...Read more

I had my molar crowned first, and did root canal from bottom of crown, because of infection, pain etc. After root canal, when do I know it went well?
