Very common: For lymph glands to swell up or enlarge when you get a cold or an infection. At times it takes much longer for it to resolve. As long as it is not getting bigger, tender , no fever and discoloration , let time take care of it. Your call: If it is stable, and not painful, it is very unlikely to be anything beyond a bit of scar (quite firm ) or a piece of mastoid process (bone hard) or a benign inclusion cyst (sort of firm and smooth).
