This may by: :Blepharitis or inflammation of the eylid can be allergic or infectious. your Primary Care Provider may be able to treat this. In the meantime warm moist soaks can help. A good rule of thumb: In a one week old , eye drops should only be prescribed by ophthalmologist or baby's physician! just because someone has pink eye, or looks like it, using somebody's script can potentially damage the eyes especially those with steroids . Needs attention!: This sounds like a serious local reaction. I would not recommend any natural remedies for this. At the very least a dose of antihistamines will be necessary. Try this: If you place your thumb/finger on her cheek and tug the skin out/down it creates a shelf. If you put the drops on that shelf & her natural blinking will distribute the drops. Anyone will fight putting stuff directly on the eyeball and naturally try to flick it out. ...Read more

See your eye doctor: ASAP, meaning oculoplastics surgeon! Eye swelling after being hit can indicate a possible orbital floor fracture & especially if you are seeing a deep scratch. Usually no but..: You can cause a glaucoma attack if you have narrow angles. These type of drops are not really allergy drops they are vasoconstrictors, they make the eye look better because they shrink the blood vessels making the eye look less red. Yes: If you have conjunctivitis that is sensitive to the antibiotic you are taking, the inflammation should be gone by 1 week. If it is not, stop the antibiotic and see your doctor.
