Infant Acne Discoloration Face
7 week infant has baby acne and dry skin on face. What can I do to help? How long does thr acnd usually last?
Patience: Baby acne is a common and temporary problem. It usually appears by age 2 weeks and disappears by 3 months. Keeping the skin clean is the major plan. If it persists after 3 months and or intensifies, some normal ace treatments can be beneficial, but the doc should look into unusual hormonal issues as a cause at that point.
Can a 3 week old infant get baby acne on her head? All over her face also including eyelids. Everyday it's getting worse. What can I do?
Will rubbing a pee-soaked diaper on an infant's face and/or tongue cure him of thrush and baby acne?
Not advisable: There is much folklore surrounding the use of urine as a cure-all, but little evidence of any benefit. Urine should be sterile and not cause disease, but there are much better treatments for both oral thrush and acne. Baby acne does not need treatment and will go away on its own. Benzoyl peroxide is far more effective for treatment of adult acne.See 2 more doctor answers
Is hydroquinone safe to use on the skin? I'm looking to lighten acne spots and discoloration on my face, saw some creams in store with hydroquinone.
YES: This product is safe in moderation: always use only a thin film of cream and apply it 1-2 times daily.
Not your best option: There are better otc and prescription products to help prevent oily shine. Mineral powder sunscreens and make up products are a great way to mattify and protect your skin without clogging you pores and predisposing you to acne.
Acne problem, use mild baby powder after washing face and hope it hels me from acn is it good or bad?
3 month since my acne grow so fast it is annoying, and I hve new trble it is cause a injured to my face hw I make the stain disappaer and stop the acne?
No: Newborns have several types of normal rashes. Erythema toxicum is a rash that looks like flea bites and moves around the body. Nothing needs to be done. Little white milk bumps or milia are like whiteheads and fade with time as you wash the skin. Baby acne looks like little pimples and can be on the face and chest. A warm washcloth to clean is all that is needed. It improves with time.See 1 more doctor answer
How can I know the difference between baby acne on a 20 days old and an allergic reaction on her face?
Ask Dr: If it is pustules on the face it is acne or milia, not allergy. If it is red cheeks it is eczema, not allergy or acne.
What's the oldest age that you might still see some cradle cap on the scalp or baby acne on the face?
6 months: The sweat and oil glands in the newborn need to develop and mature. During this process they can produce effects that appear as cradle cap and "acne". This maturing varies a lot. Most infants mature within a couple months. If signicant effects persist beyond 6 months, further evaluation is warranted.
My baby has acne and now his face is left with little pimples and dry skin does that mean his acne is gone?
Baby acne: Baby acne can start around 6 weeks of age and last until 3 months of age. It will often come and go in phases, much like adolescent acne. Make sure you are using sensitive skin (fragrance free, dye free) soaps and lotions to this sensitive area. Call your doctor if things are getting worse.
Is Proactiv ok during pregnancy? I am five months pregnant & my face is horrible with acne. I'm just afraid that I will affect the baby.
Proactiv: Using proactiv during pregnancy is ok. Rest assured your newborn will just fine. Good luck!
What to do if I have dry skin and What to do if I have acne. I was wondering if I could put on johnson's baby lotion before going to bed to moisturise my face?
3 month baby with a lot of acne normal? My son just turned 3 months and has had bad acne since he was born. Some days it doesn't look as bad and other days its really bad. I ask his pediatrician and she recommended baby vaseline applied to his face everyd
No: Baby acne is a common event that appears by 2 weeks or so but should fade before 3 months. If it persists, it should be regarded as a treatable problem. Meds for teen acne are often helpful. I never put Vaseline on what I think may be acne. A consultation with a dermatologist & possible workup for hormonal excess are both realistic.See 2 more doctor answers
Why is not ok to kiss a 2 week old baby on her face? I also noticed she have some baby acne will that go away? Why do they get acne?
Risk/yes/natural: We encourage parents not to expose newborns to any source of illness for the first 8 wks. This is the time frame where germs passed during delivery might show up as blood poisoning & show only as mild fever. I hate doing blood tests/possible spinal tap on a baby because their aunt wants to play kissy kiss.Baby acne reflects maternal pregnancy hormones & fades by 3 mo.See 1 more doctor answer

Atopic dermatitis: Description does not fit to neonatal acne.
Does baby acne leave any scars? Does gently wiping the face with a baby wipe after feeding and milk spit ups going to make things any worse?
Soap & H2O better: (I am not a pediatrician, but I am a father.) Neonatal acne does not normally leave scars. It usually goes away on its own. In the meantime, I would recommend using just soap (eg, very dilute baby shampoo) and water on a soft wash rag, and avoiding commercial wipes that may have allergenic oils and fragrance.See 1 more doctor answer
