Infants all do and it seems to increase a bit and peak naturally around 4m as they get stronger & generate more abdominal pressure with rolling & flexing. Reflux: Most babies spit breast milk or formula at times. Babies with symptomatic reflux will often arch their backs and cry because of pain. Timing of vomiting: Many children spit up, some a lot. The time after feeding is key for deciding if the stomach has delayed emptying. Infants should have an empty stomach by 2 hours or so after eating, so if a child throws up 4 hrs or more after eating, they likely have delayed emptying.
