What benefits can you get from rock climbing (indoor and outdoor) that you can't from working out at the gym?

Better workout with

Muscle
Intensity of the work out is greater with rock climbing than you can do in a gym. While climbing you are working out multiple muscles at the same time. Hard to replicate that with weights.

How can i help my child feel normal in gym class when he has a heart condition?

Check with his MD

If your son's cardiologist has cleared him for full activity, make sure he knows that he IS normal in gym class. If he has activity restrictions, ask if it's appropriate for him to be in gym, and get a medical exemption if it's not. If he can participate but is limited, ask his gym teacher or school counselor to work out a modified plan for him that lets him do as much as possible.

How can a person schedule himself to get to the gym a few evenings in the week when you have small children to care for?

See if there is someone you trust to watch them for a few hours while you are gone. Do not leave them alone. Babysitters might help if you find one you like. This may help you out in the future as you could go out in the evening for longer if you find someone you trust for a short time period.

It is fine to exercise as part of a weight reduction plan.However, the most progress is made by realistic choices at the dinner table. A nine year old is best served by group activities such as soccer,scouts,hiking & similar outside activities; all that would keep a kid busy & occupied. Nine year old kids get bored easily & I doubt any stair climber would suit their needs.

I have 4 kids my youngest is 4 months old I have aching legs and feet if I go to the gym and work out will I strengthen the muscles and feel better?

Your feet probably ache because you have to chase 4 kids! :) But seriously aching feet can be from over use as well as poor arch support. Strengthening your muscles through exercise is very helpful for many things. But it is important to have proper support. Seeing a podiatrist to determine if you need additional support is important.
