Is it really gout?: If you have involvement of the base of the great toe then the diagnosis will almost always be gout. However, if this joint has never been involved then I would see a rheumatologist. Not really: All of those are anti-inflammatory medications. One may work better for one person and not the other. Which ever one gives you the best relief is what you should use.
