I'm going for my first pap and I would like to be tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea, does the pap test this as well?
Urine: Though a painful, urethral brushing is the traditional method to obtain sample fir testing, it's quicker and easier to obtain a first-pass urine (not a mid-stream urine) for nucleic acid amplification testing for Gonorrhea & chlamydia. Candida is a yeast is part of the normal flora — it's not specifically tested nor is it regularly treated. It can be grown on a urine culture. ...Read more

Can my prostatitis be passed to my wife and cause pid?
Chlamydia and gonorrhea urine naat test negative.
Probably not, but...: Prostatitis isn't an STD, and with negative gonorrhea and chlamydia, probably no PID risk for your wife. However, some docs mistakenly diagnose nongonococcal urethritis (an STD) as prostatitis. If you've had abnormal discharge from your penis, it's probably NGU, not prostatitis. If so, and if you had sex w/ your wife after the source of your infection, your wife could be at risk & needs treatment. ...Read more
How to relieve rectal chlamydia symptoms until test results come back? I went to my gyno yesterday and since I am with a new partner they suggested I get a chlamydia and gonorrhea test. The only thing my doctor was concerned about was that one morning aft
Until you see the doctor you can try some over the counter hemorrhoid medication. There are many products in your local pharmacy dedicated to hemorrhoid treatment. These include creams that you apply to the rectum, medicated pads that can be placed over the anus, and rectal suppositories that can be inserted into the rectum. I recommend one of the first two choices until you can see the doctor. Also, increase your fiber and water intake.
Take care. ...Read more

I tested negative for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea and took Azithromycin on 12/24 evening, how long does it take for dysuria symptoms to resolve? Thanks!
Soon, maybe: It is very unlikely that Chlamydia or Gonorrhea would cause dysuria, so this might be a bladder (urinary tract) infection. There are other possibilities, none of which can be properly evaluated without an exam. IF it is a bladder infection and IF it is sensitive to azithromycin then you should be feeling better. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Pain in urethra. Waiting on chlamydia and gonorrhea tests, while taking doxycycline. But now noticing purplish bumps just inside tip of penis. Normal?
Get examined: "Purplish bumps" may not be abnormal, maybe just blood vessels, looking more prominent because of inflammation from gonorrhea or chlamydia. But genital herpes or warts might be possible as well. Presumably you saw a doctor, right? If not (e.g. if you arranged your own testing through a lab or on line), of if your doctor didn't examine you closely, return to the office right away. Good luck! ...Read more
