I have elevated prolactin, not due to pituitary tumor, will
cabergoline enable thyroid and estrogen/progesterone ratio
to all become balanced?
Probably: High prolactin can result from certain medications, narcotics, stress, as well as from pituitary tumors that are too small to see on imaging studies. High prolactin will cause female pituitary hormone levels to become abnormal, resulting in irregular periods or loss of periods. Cabergoline will lower prolactin and improve this imbalance. High prolactin does not typically cause abnormal thyroid. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

What might cause someone to experience abnormally high libido? I take anti-depressants, but my daily level of arousal remains uncomfortably high.
Not generally: However, if hepatitis C is in its later stages where it is causing significant damage to the liver's ability to metabolize alcohol, alcohol levels may remain higher than they usually would be. But in most people, it will not make much of a difference. Very little alcohol is excreted in urine, particularly in experienced drinkers. What is now measured are metabolites like ethyl glucuronide (Et-G) ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Low TSH unlikely: Thyroid cancer usually does not cause a low TSH (unless you are taking thyroid hormone). Most thyroid cancers do not function as well as normal thyroid tissue. Elevated thyroglobulin is a nonspecific finding, seen in most disorders of the thyroid. It can serve as a tumor marker for recurrent thyroid cancer as long as the thyroid has been completely removed. High tg has nothing to do with tsh. ...Read more

Symptoms of both hyper and hypo thyroid for some time now. Tsh has risen from 0.6 to 2.1 in 2yrs. Free T4 is 12. Normal to increase? Follow up tests?
Abnormal thyroid tes: The lab values that you have submitted appear to be an error. The TSH test appear to be in normal range but the free T4 appears to be 10 times the normal value. Are you sure this is not the total T4? In that case your labs are normal and a total T4 elevation would indicate use of birth control pills, which can raise total T4. I would repeat these tests first and if confirmed, look in the pituitary ...Read more
