What home remedies can I use to get the phlegm out of my chest?

Chest phlegm: Warm steamy showers work well. Warm tea is very soothing. Try some vitamin c and take a multivitamin. Drink plenty of fluids and get plenty of sleep. If this does not work. 1600 to 2400 mg of Mucinex (guaifenesin) works well. This is greater than the recommended dose. Feel better. ...Read more

It started from flu, then my chest felt stuffy and I couldnt get the phlegm out, what should I do?

Options: Chest congestion can be a big issue for patients getting over the flu. I would recommend increasing your water intake which will thin mucous. You should also try delsym/mucinex or any over the counter guafenesin. If you have fever you should get an x-ray to rule out pneumonia which can be a complication that occurs with influenza. ...Read more

I have bronchitis. Is it better for phlegm to be loose and me coughing or is it better for my chest to be dry?

I have a cough and i observed that I dont produce that much phlegm now after 6 days but I feel some heaviness in my chest.. What is it?

Chest "heaviness": The only way in which this can be answered is for you to be examined, your chest auscultated with a stethoscope and possibly undergoing a chest x-ray if felt necessary by the diagnosing doctor. If this continues or you have any trouble breathing see somebody ASAP. Good luck and hope you feel better soon. ...Read more

I've been coughing on and off phlegm for over a month, it's clear but the weird thing my chest feels like air pockets are in there.. What could this b?

Clarify...: Do you mean you can feel air pockets under your skin on your chest? Does the skin on your chest feel kind of like bubble wrap that you can pop? If so, you need to go to the ER for evaluation ASAP! If this description is right, that is called subcutaneous emphysema and the cause of this needs to be diagnosed. For example, you may have blebs in the lungs which burst with coughing. Good luck!! ...Read more
