How to increase lymphocyte count. it is 14 at the moment?

How to increase lymphocyte count. it is 14 at the moment?

See details: There are no supplements or anything you can do personally to increase it. This is something that needs to be discussed with your hematologist/oncologist. Where is the primary cancer? This low count may be due to chemotherapy or less likely to bone marrow involvement from the cancer. The oncologist may feel that it is not clinically necessary to worry about the lymphocyte count. ...Read more

Age 19 , my lymphocyte count increase by 48% .is it normal? What is the reason for that increasment

It is nothing seriou: A temporary increase in lymphocyte counts is common especially after a viral illness like Flu or head cold. It will settle down in 4-6 weeks. This is a normal reaction to virus infections which are common....we all get them once or twice in a year! ...Read more

Hard to assess: Other than small red cells, suggesting iron deficiency or a hereditary hemoglobin defect, the numbers are not conclusive for anything. When you submit a question you should provide better background information and ask a related question.Skimpy info with no information about why the lab was done is not enough. You are welcome to start over.Your questions are never linked & we cannot see uploads. ...Read more

Does a viral infection increase wbc count and lymphocytes and decrease neutrophils below normal range?and does everything come back to normal afterwar

Does a viral infection increase wbc count and lymphocytes and decrease neutrophils below normal range?and does everything come back to normal afterwar

Generally: What you described is generally applicable to viral infections that cause transient infections like measles, flu and common cold. The same does not apply to chronic viral infections like HIV and Hepatitis C.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Hi sir my lymphocyte count has increased from 20% to 43.4% in 3 months. should i be worried?

No: These percentages fluctuate wildly even hour by hour. If the absolute counts are anywhere near normal and no weird cells are identified. Just relax and be thankful for good health. ...Read more

28male. i have a increased lymphocyte count 48.60%(20-40) & decreased segmented neutrophil 37.30 (40-80) & absolute lymphocyte 3.06 thous/mm3? help.

Stop worrying: I'm glad you're interested in your lab work, but you need to know some basics. Percentages mean nothing. The absolute counts are of interest only if they're far removed from the reference range, which is set so that several percent of healthy folks fall outside. If no abnormal forms were found and you are not obviously sick, give this up and be grateful for good health. ...Read more

Would like to ask if I should be alarmed if my lymphocyte count is 54% I am 26yo. Female?

I won't worry: About it esp. If ur total white blood cell count is normal and u don't have any symptoms- fever, night sweats, weight loss etc. This could just be from a viral infection.God bless u and mabuhay! ...Read more

My lymphocyte count is 46% while max should be 40% is it normal if not what should I do next please help?

Stop worrying: I'm a pathologist / lab physician and wish labs simply didn't report white cell percentages. This is a problem is, and only if, your absolute lymphocyte count is elevated far above the reference range. Since you sound like you had a chest cold when the labs were done, it's no surprise your lymphs were a bit up -- they were helping recover. The percentages fluctuate wildly even hour-to-your. ...Read more

I have had a slightly high lymphocyte count for years, but dr has only just noticed. Is there any chance it could just be normal for me or bad news?

It's just you: Reference ranges are set so that several percent of healthies fall outside on either side. If you're older and actually seem sick and the absolute count's more than say 8000, a pathologist might check you out for preleukemia, though it's not really treatable. I'll bet it's nothing. ...Read more

Why is my lymphocyte count always so low?

Why is my lymphocyte count always so low?

Reference ranges: The reference range for any lab value usually should include 95% of normal people. So, you could be in the 5% that are outside the range. Alternatively you could have one of several selective deficiencies in lymphocyte subclasses. If you're otherwise healthy though, they are unlikely. ...Read more

What does a lymphocyte count of 0.7 indicate?

What does a lymphocyte count of 0.7 indicate?

Low lymphocytes: A low lymphocyte count is also called lymphopenia. A count of 0.7 says that you only have 700 lymphocytes present on the blood test (which is to few). Lymphopenia can be caused by many things including HIV infection. I would suggest speaking with your physician and getting a referral if appropriate to a hematologist for further evaluation and have a repeat CBC performed and consider HIV testing. ...Read more

My lymphocyte count is 0.91. what does this mean?

Nothing by itself: If you feel well and there are no bizarre cells, this is just something to follow. This is ever-so-slightly below most reference ranges, and these ranges are set so that a few percent of healthies fall outside on either end. Get another CBC next year. ...Read more

Lymphocyte count with high cd19 - what can it mean?

Lymphocyte count with high cd19 - what can it mean?

Lots of B cells: A lymphocyte enumeration is a count of the lymphocytes in your blood. Lymphocytes primarily include t-cells, b-cells, and nk-cells. B-cells are identified by cd19, a marker on their surface. Have the doctor who ordered the test help you interpret the result. The number of b-cells (how how the cd19 count is), your age, blood vs bone marrow, and your symptoms help him/her interpret the results. ...Read more

Could you tell me why my lymphocyte count is 0.5 and has been for 12 years now?

Could you tell me why my lymphocyte count is 0.5 and has been for 12 years now?

Possibly no problem: If you have no symptoms that led to a blood count that revealed the low count, you are probably fine. Also, if your total white cell count is low, so will be the number of lymphocytes. The fact that the count has not changed in 12 years further suggests that this is the case. You probably should not have any new blood counts unless there is a specific reason. ...Read more

What does it mean when the lymphocyte count is high? Is it good or bad? And why?

What does it mean when the lymphocyte count is high? Is it good or bad? And why?

Viral: Usually if we do a blood count for a person with an infection would look at the total white count as well as the differential. A high white count with a lotto neutrophils suggest bacterial infection whereas a white count with a lot of lymphocytes is more suggestive of ireland flexion.
There is no value judgment per se whether it is good or bad. It is relative to the problem at hand. ...Read more

What does a high nuetraphil and low lymphocyte count mean?

What does a high nuetraphil and low lymphocyte count mean?

Both white bld cells: Blood is made up of red blood cells (too few=anemia), platelets (important in clotting) and white blood cells. Normal WBC count is 4-10, 000. Most wbc's are either neutrophils (60-70%) or lymphocytes (30-40%). High neutrophils count (and thus lower lymphocytes) often means a bacterial infection. High lymphocyte ct may mean virus infection. These, of course, are only generalities. ...Read more

Is absolute lymphocyte count of 1.9 on a 2.3 low range reason to be seriously concerned.?

Does not add up: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, the information you provided does not add up. You may wish to restate the issue and provide complete results.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. No: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, The normal levels of lymphocytes present in the blood usually range between 1200 and 3200 lymphocytes per milliliter of blood. What does a high lymphocyte count in small intestines mean?

Unclear: Lymphocyte "count" usually refers to blood. A pathologist should be working on this for you to determine the meaning of the finding. ...Read more

Does each individual have a fixed lymphocyte count every time we take a blood test or are they suppose to fluctuate. If so what is the max fluctuation?

Everchanging: Lymphocyte count fluctuates greatly within a certain range under normal circumstances depending on the situation.
They are mostly immune cells which respond to foreign invasion and thus the intensity will depend on the specific situation. ...Read more
