Does progesterone suppositories cause brown discharge? I'm 5weeks 4days btw

Not really: It's common to have some brown spotting early in pregnancy. It is not caused by the Progesterone though. An ultrasound in a week or so should be able to see if you have a viable embryo. In the meantime, you should continue the Progesterone as directed by your doctor. And call the doctor if you have any bright red bleeding! ...Read more

Usually not: Sometimes the Progesterone will dry the vaginal canal and cause alittle bit of spotting. If it's just a spot it's usually not of great concern. Please let your doctor's office know and have them evaluate you though. ...Read more

Crinone (progesterone gel) discharge brown, am I getting my period?

Need follow up: Average age of menopause is 51yo. If you've been through menopause (1y of no period), this is postmenopausal bleeding and you should see your doctor for ultrasound+/-biosy. If you haven't been through menopause, you should see your doc because you're on high end of age and maybe the "period" is something else. Plus you might need to discuss if you still need to be on crinone at this time ...Read more

6 days late period and slight brown discharge. Trying for 3 years could I be pregnant also I have good estrogen levels and slightly low progesterone what can I do to bring that up?

When in doubt: Just check pregnancy test. And if you are still not bleeding normally and first pregnancy test was negative, check it again in 1 week. If both negative and your symptoms persist, get to a GYN so they can help you determine what the next step is to regulate your periods. I am not sure if you have been to a fertility physician but would encourage you to do so if you have been trying for 3 years. ...Read more

10 weeks pregnant with brownish discharge, ultrasound is fine, hCG :102000 miu/ml, progesterone :130 nmol/l, should I be worried?

No: Brown = blood. "decidual bleeding" can be lumped together with "implantation bleeding" and we can call them both "first trimester bleeding". I'd estimate 20-30% of pregnant women have some type of first trimester bleeding, and many go on to have normal pregnancies. An ultrasound is the only way to know that things are ok in there. The hormone levels are not so important at this point. ...Read more

Abnormal spotting: Your blood levels for day 2 and day 21 Progesterone are adequate yet you are spotting brown and cramping with shedding of endometrium. This is called Progesterone break through bleeding. You need a premenstrual endometrial biopsy and dating of endometrium to rule out luteal phase deficiency. Also an ultrasound to rule out endometrial polyp. ...Read more

I'm 9 weeks pregnant and been on progesterone vaginal gel. Having brown/salmon discharge with clumps. Is this normal or should I call doctor?

Your doc should: Have explained that to u- what to expect, in my pts it is common to get that, but u should call your doc as your doc may or may not want to check you, and I assume you already had an ultrasound to check fetal viability because if you haven't u need one now, and in the future if your doc puts u on a med like that your doc is supposed to tell you what you could expect from taking it. ...Read more
