My csection incision smells but no redness, infection or opening and its been a month but my tummy lays over the scar which is low what's the reason?

My csection incision smells but no redness, infection or opening and its been a month but my tummy lays over the scar which is low what's the reason?

Air: If your abdomen lies over your c-section incision, the area can't get air and stays warm and moist leading to the growth of skin bacteria. It may not cause an infection in the scar because the skin has healed enough that they don't get in but the anaerobic bacteria that grow in places that are warm, moist and low on oxygen tend to stink. ...Read more

The redness on my incision site doesn't seem to be going away. Is there any antibiotic cream that I can use to help with the redness?

Surgical follow-up: If there's redness that you think is abnormal - you need to let your surgeon know about this. They usually have some sort of routine follow up scheduled after a surgery-but I would call now and let them know you need to be seen sooner rather than later. You don't want to 'sit' on a wound infection that could worsen without the proper treatment. Surgeons are usually happy to know about these things ...Read more

Several weeks: You should look out for increased pain, swelling, fever, blistering, or fluid draining from the wound. These could indicate a deeper infection and should prompt you to go back to the doctor. The redness should resolve in several weeks as long as there is no other problem. ...Read more

surgery at the end of January. Near one of the incision sites is round red rash. It seems to get worse after I've showered or while working out?

Who Knows..: The site rash may or may not be directly due to the surgery. There is just no way of knowing for sure. Having said that, it would be prudent to keep a watchful eye on the condition. Certain activities can increase the blood flow to the area and cause a temporary redness. To remove all doubt, give your surgeon a call. It may be as easy as using a topical cream to address the condition. ...Read more

I had gb surgery 2 weeks ago and now my incision scars are bumpy and one of them hurts. Its not red or inflamed. What could be the cause?

Pretty normal: Your trochar sites are sites of trauma. Your eighteen so you have a dynamite immune system. You are feeling soreness due to inflammation as these wounds continue to heal. The bump is due to scarring and, probably, just a little bit of blood at the wound sites. Take aspirin/naproxen/ibuprofen for soreness, and you can use a heating pad as well. This will pass. After Gallbladder surgery I noticed a big red circle after surgery near incision, is it a sign of infection?

Redness: The question is whether this circle is a rash, irritation or skin/wound infection. I had eye surgery done 6 weeks ago. The incision is great but it burns and my eyes stay red. Any remedies.?

Blepharoplasty?: I am guessing you had eyelid surgery. The following refers to that (as incisions on the eye generally cannot be seen). If so you had some skin removed and the upper lid elevated. This opens the eye a little more and alters the tear distribution. The redness is from dryness. Get some over the counter lubricating drops and use them regularly until the eye surface adapts. ...Read more
