Dermatitis: Likely a reaction to the prep done at time of surgery or a dressing after. What are you putting on the wound now? I'd ask the surgeon what they suggest you use before trying anything. ...Read more

Surgery: Although this will probably turn out to be nothing worrisome, a good rule of thumb is that anytime something unexpected happens after a surgery, you should talk to the surgeon who performed the procedure. Last week i had open inguinal hernia surgery and had my incision glued together. How should the incision look by now. Mine looks red like dried blood on it, is this normal and how long is healing.

Last week i had open inguinal hernia surgery and had my incision glued together. How should the incision look by now. Mine looks red like dried blood on it, is this normal and how long is healing.

Hernia surgery: We occasionally will use a "skin glue" to put the skin layer back together. The muscle underneath is sewn. The incision can look a little red, as you mentioned, but if this is increasing or you have drainage or increasing tenderness, these may be signs of an impending infection. At one week after surgery, the incision will not look very good, and will look absolutely fine in several weeks. ...Read more

No need for creams: Creams should hold and seal wounds. Assuming the incision is clean dry and intact an uncovered a wound is fine with no dressing or need for creams. ...Read more

Discuss w. urologist: Hope you had urodynamic studies, cystoscopy & full discussion before you had bladder neck incision at such young age. Known complications of retrograde ejaculation (semen goes backwards) & urinary incontinence should have been on operative consent form. Do you have operative consent forms in Turkey? Why do you have hydronephrosis? Possible neurogenic bladder. Consider urologic second opinion. ...Read more
