Yes: They "count", but these very early pregnancies that short circuit practically before they begin are much more common than most realize. They are therefore not very significant. You can always improve your chances by eating healthy, getting plenty of sleep, avoiding unnecessary medications, don't smoke or drink or use drugs, and taking a good multivitamin with folic acid. ...Read more

Yes: Our grading system for quality of eggs does not acurately predict implantation. Some feel that the best looking embryos - no fragmentation - may not be as good as ones with some fragmentation. We do know that lower grade embryos do not survive the freeze/thaw process as well. You should have your doctor explain his reason so you could understand and not feel pushed into a decision. ...Read more

Shouldn't: The quality of the eggs is most directly related to their age - and they are as old as you are. As you age the possibility of genetic anomalies with each pregnancy increases.
