Yes: You can take a combined estrogen/levonogesterol pill when on implanon, in fact, doctors may recommend this to help with some of the breakthrough bleeding that can occur while on implanon. At your age, the only possible side effect would be an increased risk of blood clot, but only likely if md said you were at increased risk for blood clot, or had previous liver tumor. Otherwise, you're fine! ...Read more
So I'm getting Skyla placed tomorrow. I had implanon and had weight gain and an unending cycle. What are the chances of the same side effects?
Low: You may have bleeding at first with the Skyla while the receptors are being primed but this is most often in the first month. The incidence drops monthly. There is an average 10 pound weight gain each year with DepoProvera but studies have shown no weight change with the IUDs or implants. There is less hormone exposure with Skyla so less risk. Hope this helps. ...Read more
tell me about the Contraceptive implanon ive been using it since I was 14, recently had it replaced as it expired and having negative Side effects?
Implanon: Implanon is a progesterone only contraceptive. Abnormal bleeding, whether that is bleeding every day, no bleeding at all or anything in between, is the biggest side effect. Many people are like you and have no significant bleeding. It is a long acting contraceptive. This does not negate the fact that you should still use condoms to protect against sexually transmitted diseases. ...Read more
Recently had a Jadelle implant put in (5 months ago) after using an Implanon for six years. I am getting much more obvious side effects should I swap?
Implanon/nexplanon: Theoretically any symptoms you had with implanon will be the same with nexplanon. Having said that the symptoms you describe are side effects of progesterone only contraception such as the nexplanon. The symptoms are therefore expected side effects. Speak to your doctor. Perhaps there is another equally effective for you contraceptive. Maybe the nuvaring or OCPs if remembering daily meds is ok. ...Read more

Pregnancy unlikely: It sounds like you may have a GI problem causing the sensation of fetal movement. The Nexplanon frequently causes irregularly irregular periods.
