What does it mean when you have sharp strong pains where your implanon is in your arm, it's a reoccurring thing and aches like mad?
Implanon pain/ache: Most likely it is due to the implanon putting pressure on a nerve. Try treating it with NSAID like ibuprofen (Advil) or naproxen (Aleve) especially when it is aching. If this is not helpful, you should consult the healthcare provider who implanted the implanon. Perhaps it can be repositioned. It would be a shame to not be able to take advantage of this most reliable form of birth control. ...Read more

Depends: If you had your Implanon inserted within 5 days of when your last period began, it is effective immediately. At any other point during your menstrual cycle, a backup form of birth control (i.e. Condoms) should be used for 7 days. In april I got an implanon rod inserted in my arm. I have been bleeding two months straight. Will it stop any time soon? Is this a problem?
Possibly and no: The most troublesome side effect of Implanon is what is called breakthrough bleeding.
