Impaired Motor Ability (Overview)

Impairment of motor function, stemming from lesions or chemical imbalances in the basal ganglia (mid brain) or the cerebellum. Traumatic brain injury, strokes, chemical aberrations, and metabolic disorders can cause motor dysfunction. Sometimes there is a loss of minute control of fine motor skills (writing drawing) and sometimes gross motor skills (e.g. walking, limb movement) are impaired.
