Im Sixteen Years Old And Have Found A Lump In My Breastcould It Be Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer (Female) (Definition)
Breast cancer results when glandular cells lining the milk ducts and lobules of the human breast begin to grow in an unregulated manner. The growth occurs initially inside the ducts but eventually breaks outside into the breast tissue and ultimately spreads both to the lymph nodes in the armpit and via the bloodstream to other parts of the body. Because of the promoting affect of estrogen almost all breast cancer occurs in women and is a rarity in men. The unregulated growth is due to both inherited and acquired genetic defects. It is the most common malignancy in women but it often curable if found early and treated effectively with surgery, hormonal therapy, chemotherapy and targeted therapy, or a combination thereof. Early detection before the malignancy becomes large enough to be felt depends on mammography/sonography and MRI imaging of the breast on an annual basis. ...Read more
Unlikely: Unlikely but not impossible. The youngest Breast cancer patient I have worked with was 18. That said, when you are examining your breasts you are feeling for a place that is different from the rest. It is normal for a young female to have dense breasts with "lumps". Hormone changes can also make cystic areas in the tissue. If you have an area that concerns you please ask your GYN or PCP ...Read more
I am 18 years old and off late i've noticed a lump in my breast, could it possibly be breast cancer?
Unlikely to be pbm: At your age this is more likely to be benign cysts. A trip to your doc during regular office hours for an exam would be my first step to resolve your question. ...Read more
Hi im only 32 years old & i just noticed a lump on my right breast. . About the size of a quarter .. Should i b concerned about breast cancer?
Yes: A dominant breast mass is cancer until proved otherwise. It's your physician's call whether to perform imaging, try to aspirate it (this will make a cyst vanish), or needle-biopsy it. The good news is that a woman who checks her breast regularly (yes, it's a very good idea even in the "mammogram age") and acts appropriate when she finds a lump almost never dies of breast cancer. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I'm a twenty years old with a family history of breast cancer. I noticed a lump that has grown over the past few months. Should i be concerned?
Neck, shoulder/armpit, arm pain, and a couple lumps in breast felt by dr. All on l side. I'm 23 years old. Breast cancer?
Not always/depends,,: It doesn't always mean cancer. This can be fibrocystic disease with cysts that come and go with your cycle due to the hormones produced. It can also be benign lumps like fibroadenomas and the neck pain, etc. Can be unrelated. More tests like biopsy and scans may be needed, especially if you've got a family history of breast cancer so see your doctor to talk about what to do. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I found a lump on my 9 year old daughters breast. There is no rubor, swelling, or heat present. Is there anyway this could be breast cancer?
Cancer is a group of diseases that is characterized by uncontrolled cell growth leading to invasion of surrounding tissues that spread to other parts of the body. Cancer can begin anywhere in the body and is usually related to one or more genetic mutations that allow normal cells to become malignant by interfering with internal cellular control mechanisms, such as programmed cell death or by preventing ...Read more
