I'm On A Low Carb No Sugar Diet Can This Cause Night Sweats Being Really Sleepy
Refers to all the physical matter humans (like all living creatures) must take in on a recurring basis; only partially for energy. Like all life on planet humans are open systems which keep tearing down their structure & require intake of atoms/molecules from which to rebuild their structure. Intestinal lining cells replaced ~every 3 days. CaPO4 in bones ~every 6 years, ...Read more
Low carb diet takes away acid reflux is it because of eliminating sugars? Does sugars cause acid reflux?
Not really: Reflux results from ring of muscle at lower end of esophagus relaxing & allowing acidic food to reflux up esophagus. Fried/greasy food, spicy food, acidic food, caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, carbonated drinks, meds like calcium channel blockers/nsaids etc can all exacerbate reflux. Being overweight, lying down right after eating can too. ...Read more

Can you please tell me if it's just carbohydrates of which are sugars I should avoid or all carbs on a low-carb diet?
Not quite!: Avoid sugar and starch. Look at the total carb content and subtract fiber for "the digestible" carb intake. Fiber is a carbohydrate, but not digested, so it does not count. Sugar alcohols are supposed to be slowly digested, but there is some disagreement here. So to be safe-total carbs minus fiber, equals your "net" carbs! ...Read more

I think you are: Asking about a low carb diet. Please check w/professional to make sure this is a good food plan for you. Meat and diary are high protein food sources. Complex carbs such as whole grains and vegetables break down more slowly in the body and are better for you than simple carbs from refined grains in bread, muffins, cookies, etc. Please look up glycemic index and eat low on that. Peace. ...Read more

IgA nephropathy: Prednisone is indicated in IgA Neph only if the biopsy exhibits substantial cellular proliferation in the glomeruli. Prednisone can diminish this cellular presence. Fad diet: This "pop" diet -- despite the elaborate "scientific theory" presented by its proponents -- probably works like most of the other diet fads by limiting food choices. A1c 4.9 while on low carb diet passed glucose tolerance test go to bed sugars at 100 or lower wake up 8 hrs later sugar 110 or so why & am I prediabet?
We're all Prediabeti: As we grow older, we all tend to become Insulin resistant to some degree or other. Consequently, our sugars tend to rise, along with our insulin. Insulin is the hormone that causes sugar to enter our cells, where the excess is stored as fat. I recommend a low carb diet to everyone, and also recommend that just about everyone over 30 will benefit from metformin (an Insulin receptor sensitizer). ...Read more
