Ask your doctor: You should ask your doctor these questions. That's what you are paying for. Also, your insurance company might have a nurse question line. For a baby to come out, you need to be dilated (the cervix where the baby comes out, needs to open from zero to 10 cm or so) and 100% effaced Effaced = cervix was thick, it needs to thin and open so the baby can come out. ...Read more

Not normal: You need to get to the hospital now. Severe/extreme pain is never normal at 33 weeks and it could be something serious like the placenta pulling away or bleeding behind it. Turn off computer and get to er/hospital now! ...Read more

Possible labor: If you are having those "cramps" or better say contractions very frequently( especially every 5-10 mins) it is time to get checked for progression. We cannot determine with certainty exactly at what point you will be in active labor since this varies from person to person.
