Immediate evaluation: You need immediate evaluation to see if the baby is still alive and if you are starting preterm labor. If the baby is alive, and you are starting contractions, medication can be given to stop the contractions. Further, you need to get out of the situation where you and your baby are being abused. You need to put that baby first right now and get out of that situation. Tell doc your circumstances! Read more

Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Baby is moving: You can change how you sleep by laying on side with pillow propped behind you. You can gently push baby around a bit to get to move a bit. The baby WILL move. You can take ibuprofen for your back Read more

22 weeks pregnant baby moved very low and not moving much should I be worried?

22 weeks pregnant baby moved very low and not moving much should I be worried?

Well?: Not really. This is just the time you start to feel movement so it can easily be percieved to be decreased. Secondly, god forbid, there is a problem the baby is non viable (could not survive). Don't panic, the incidence of fetal death at 22 weeks is low and the percieved lack of fetal movement is high at this gestational age. Low fetal movement later in pregnancy is more worrisome. Hope it hlps. Read more

I am 22 weeks pregnant but I still don't feel the movements of my baby. Is this normal? I am a bit worried.

Normal: Most people have felt their baby by 22 weeks, but it is not worrisome that you haven't. Sometimes when the placenta is attached in the front part of the uterus, women feel the baby later. Also you may not be as far along as you think. Have you had any ultrasounds? Read more

Is 1.5cm dilation at 22 weeks pregnancy is Cervical incompetency? Usually heard that cervical dilation at 20-50mm is incompetent. What is true?

Controversial topic: Premature cervical changes (dilatation, shortening, funneling, softening...) are difficult to measure and to interpret. Sonographic or clinical exams of your cervix are very variable, very subjective, not accurate nor reliable predictors of premature labor or preterm delivery. Consult a knowledgeable MFM doctor regarding accepted criteria for "cervical insufficiency". Your risks at 22wks. Seem small. Read more

Meconium: Think. Where will it all go, or `accumulate? But In Meconium which begins to form, I believe around 12 th or 16th wk. Drugs can be detected in Meconium by second trimester. If you stay clean and your UDS continues to be negative, they may not test Meconium. But are you asking this question for yourself or for your Baby, that little helpless, precious being expecting all protection from Mama. Read more
