I'm 14 Why Am I Getting A Bald Spot
I have a bald spot on the right side of my head and I was wondering what can I do to get my hair back I'm not for sure how big the spot is? Pls help
Sometimes, I will get a sharp pain just to the right of the place on my head where a bald spot would normally be. Should I be worried?
No worries: I don't think you have anything to worry about. There are nerve endings underneath the skin in your entire body. Sometimes, the nerve endings can get excited and sharp pain could result. It is unlikely you have a serious condition but if it becomes really bothersome or more severe I think it would be good to be checked out by a local neurologist. Read more

Alopecia areata: Localized loss of hair like this is called "alopecia areata." It's caused by damage to the hair follicle itself. There are several causes, including traction (pulling), heredity (especially with patchy beard growth), infection (fungal generally) and autoimmune (in which the body itself attacks them). Please consult with a dermatologist regarding diagnosis & treatment. Read more
I have a birth mark on the back of my head, but my hair covers it. If I were to get it removed, will I have a bald spot?
Yes, a small one...: About the width of the scar. When a lesion is removed, the surgery approximates the skin margins together so that it heals promptly, but the scar itself will not have hair follicles. Usually hair around it grows and covers the scar, so it is not noticeable unless one's head is shaved. If there is a concern about the birth mark and skin cancer, your life is most important. I had a bump on my head 3 weeks ago. I scratched it and peeled the scab. Now I have a bald spot my head. How do I get hair growing back on the spot?
Time and patience.: It sounds as though the hair was traumatically removed with the scab. Since you did not have issues prior the scab, it will simply take time and patience to see the hair regrow. Viviscal is a nice over the counter treatment that may speed up the process of hair regrowth in areas such as yours. If the bald spot starts to enlarge, see a doctor. You may have a condition called alopecia aereata. Read more

Hi, I have a mark/scar/bald spot on the back of my head which I was told was caused by a brain scan when I was a baby. Can I get rid of it?
Need to examine: It is unlikely that the bald spot is due to an imaging study. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you. If the spot is not too big, you would do well to cover it with hair from the surrounding areas. If it is of bigger cosmetic concern, you may consult a plastic surgeon. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Read more

I have a bald spot from a chemical spill on the left side of my head from when I was a baby. Now that I'm older it is kind of showing. How can I fix?
You decide: You can wear a hat, style longish hair to cover it, shave the rest of your hair, decide you like it and tell everybody 'This is where I tipped over a drum of sulfuric acid' or whatever, ask a specialist about hair transplant, and/or give yourself the best gift you possibly can -- focus on fitness (95% of any guy's looks) and being a nice guy and most folks will decide the spot is 'way cool.'
