They can.: Muscle injury syndromes secondary to lipid lowering medications can occur at any time during therapy although 2/3 of the cases occur in the first 6 months. The best course of action would be to notify the prescribing physician and be evaluated as soon as possible. The treatment of these syndromes is obviously to discontinue the medication. ...Read more

Hard to say: Don't ignore belly pain, but be wise and monitor. Intermittent pain is common and can be do to gas moving through gut. Check temp If temps 100 or more, vomiting, increasing constant pain, black or bloody stools, then go to ER. Otherwise, avoid spicy, fatty foods, alcohol and caffeine and keep your diet simple, eat small amounts, take Gas-X, and see if resolves within 12 hours. If not see doc. ...Read more
