Are you kidding?: You have given us no sexual, menstrual or ovulatory history. Do you really want us to jus guess if you are pregnant or not? Physicians would never speculate about such a major diagnosis. But, you do not need a doctor to tell you that any sperm in the vagina can cause pregnancy. Right? The presence of tampons would not ever act as any form of birth control. ...Read more

If I had sex 13 days ago and I got my period like normal time, could I be pregnant?? It was heavy enough to wear pads and tampons. Am I pregnant?

No: If you had a regular period after unprotected sex, then it is a very safe assumption that that instance of sex did not lead to conception and pregnancy. Implantation bleeding (bleeding at the time of a brand new pregnancy) would be unusually light and is typically just a bit of spotting if anything at all. Rest assured that an abnormally heavy period would not be implantation bleeding. ...Read more

Missed period should I be concerned I have missed my period for the past month had sex last week and three days later had light spotting for twelve hours didn't even need a pad or tampon. I have now missed another period, should I be concerned with pregna

As : As doctors, the first thing we do when we hear a woman is having a light or missed period or abnormal spotting, we check a pregnancy test. You can always take a home pregnancy test as long as it has been 5 – 6 weeks since your last normal period, or you can go see your doctor and they can test you. A home pregnancy test is 97% accurate if taken a week or more after the missed period.

There are other reasons besides pregnancy that can cause a woman to miss a period such as: stress, diet, excessive exercise or a hormone imbalance such as with a thyroid disorder or poly cystic ovarian syndrome. If you have a positive pregnancy test or if you continue to have an irregular cycle, you should give you doctor a call. Good luck! ...Read more
