Can taking Aleve daily over a long period of time (years) cause sharp and gnawing pain under my left rib cage? Had blood tests recently, doctor said some level was higher due to my taking Aleve (which he prescribed for my arthritis). Should I stop taking
Ask your doctor: Aleve (naproxen) can cause a number of problems that can show up as pain under the left rib cage. These include peptic ulcer and coronary artery problems. Don't know which blood levels would be affected, but you really should press your doctor for an explanation of your symptoms and of the abnormal blood test. ...Read more
I was prescribed naproxen 500 for 15 days post laparotomy but I have no pain (4 days post) is it ok to stop taking it?
Have taken 4 500mg naproxen in 48 hrs. Not helping pain. Can stop taking and go out tonight and drink 2 bottles of wine? 2 bottles won't make me sick
2 bottles of: Wine can be a lot of alcohol for someone who is not taking alcohol daily. Naprosyn (naproxen) should help with your pain though I do not know for sure if this is acute or chronic pain you are referring to. I would suggest for you to see a healthcare provider to properly examine and diagnose your pain first. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap. ...Read more
Is naproxen safe if I want to get pregnant? Or should I should stop taking it immediately? I'm taking it for my migraine.
How soon should I start taking naproxen 500mg for it to stop my period cramps &is it more effective than naprogesic?
When cramping begins:
Without a prescription, the highest dose of naproxen is 200 mg every 8 hours with food when cramps begin; no more than 600 mg per day. Under a doctor’s supervision, the dose may go to 500 mg every 12 hours (or 250 mg every 6-8 hours if stomach upset), with a max of 1, 000 mg/day. Naprogesic is not much different, as it contains a form of naproxen - just be aware of the dose.
I have a sharp pain in my left hip they put me on naproxen but the pain is still there what can I do or take for the pain to go away?
I was getting a migraine so I till an Aleve (naproxen) one hour ago. Can I take one Excedrin migraine now to help my was stop hurting or another aleve (naproxen)?
Can take: Aleve (naproxen) again, but take two tablets 220mg per day. I would not take aleve (naproxen) long term unless your doctor advises you to do so. If you have migraine days more than four days per month or if the ones you have do not respond to "abortive" therapies at home, see your doctor. Do not let them prescribe you anything thing with butalbital in it! ...Read more
