If Under The Care Of A Doctor Is Taking A Laxative Daily Okay
I was told by doctors on here to stop taking laxatives. And now my poop is incomplete. It feels like i need to push more out, but it wont come out?
I have had frequent constipation for over a year and i've been taking swiss kriss herbal laxative regularly. Should i keep taking it or see a doctor?
Change your diet and: Fluids. Eat a high fiber diet between 20-25 grams per day, regular meal times and drink 80-100 oz of caffeine free alcohol free fluids daily. Multiple laxatives have been tried. Doctors won't do anything else. What to do now? :(
Common things...: I often recommend a daily regimen of a fiber laxative such as Benefiber (R) taken twice daily with a cathartic such as Miralax (R) taken at bedtime on the days that the person hasn't had a bowel movement. This has to be started AFTER doing a bowel cleanse such as might be done prior to a colonoscopy.
