Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Can a pregnancy test give false results if you've had your tubes tied or would it matter ? Like be pregnant and it say neg

Pregnancy Testing: Pregnancy tests are rarely inaccurate when done correctly. In your case it would be extremely rare that you could ever get pregnant. So, not sure why you feel the need to test. But, a negative test, if done at least fourteen days after the possible conception, would be very accurate. ...Read more

What does blood test they do in the ER for suspected liver problems actually tell you? Can you still have liver problems even if the tests r normal?

What does blood test they do in the ER for suspected liver problems actually tell you? Can you still have liver problems even if the tests r normal?

LFTs vs Acute Hep : Regardless of whether you're in er or doctor's office, liver function tests (lfts) are blood tests that tell us about current status/function of liver. However, these tests tell us nothing about potential liver problems from infectious hepatitis, esp b & c. You need special tests looking for that particular infection. Early in infection process, it's possible to have normal lfts yet be infected. ...Read more

How soon after a d&c can you conceive? Can you be so early in pregnancy that your + sign can be so faint but you still can see it. Are is hCG left in

How soon after a d&c can you conceive? Can you be so early in pregnancy that your + sign can be so faint but you still can see it. Are is hCG left in

I see your ?: Your question is, is it possible that your pregnancy test is possible because there's still some HCG left in your blood stream from the miscarriage, or is this a new pregnancy. Without dates it's impossible to answer the question precisely. But you are right, the hormone of pregnancy can linger for a few days/weeks. With a D&C the levels drop much faster. More information needed to answer. ...Read more

If you are group b positive when u are pregnant can u ever be group b neg? Does the results change or does ot stay the same?

If you are group b positive when u are pregnant can u ever be group b neg? Does the results change or does ot stay the same?

You can change GBS.: If you had group b streptococci in your urine (even if asymptomatic), or a previously infected newborn, it stays positive throughout pregnancy and must be treated during labor to prevent neonatal infection. If your anogenital culture is + within a month of delivery it also has to be treated, however previous positive results can change to negative, which is why the culture is performed ~35 weeks. ...Read more

If u take pregnancy test what could be the reason u get a negative are u test to soon before missed period ?

If u take pregnancy test what could be the reason u get a negative are u test to soon before missed period ?

Reasons: Any time you do a quantitative test you have to set numerical limits as to what you count as positive and what you count as negative. When you got a 64 on a test you were told you failed but your friend who got a 65 passed. Very little difference but one was on one side of the line and one was on the other. The dividing lines position is somewhat arbitrary. ...Read more

Can you be pregnant if you miss 2 periods have ALL the symptoms but test negative still? I would b 9 wks should I request ultrasound?

Pregnancy ?s: At 9 weeks, all the home urine tests will certainly pick up a pregnancy, so if you've taken more than one, it seems unlikely that it is a pregnancy. But there could be other reasons for your symptoms, so you should go see your gyn for evaluation. They'll repeat the test, possibly do a blood test, and probably get an ultrasound to evaluate the uterus and ovaries. ...Read more

If your pregnancy test is negative and you have the symptoms can you be pregnant i'm 14 days late?

No: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. ...Read more

If u were treated for chlamydia than used a toy for pleasure not positive if it was cleaned or not could you be reinfected? What are the chances?

Possible: It is possible. Depends on the timeline. It also depends on if treatment was still ongoing. See this study for some info. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/8536467/. I would strongly consider retesting, especially if symptoms recur. ...Read more
