???: When was the injury? What was the grade / severity? Most lower grade splenic injuries are successfully managed conservatively and your body usually makes a complete recovery. You are usually kept under close watch and discharged when stable. Recurrent bleeding is possible but not common unless you aggrevated the injury, have bleeding tendencies or on certain meds. Question unclear: If you have an enlarged spleen you need to be evaluated for the cause, and to avoid trauma to the area of the spleen so that it minimizes the chance that it will rupture. The enlarged spleen alone is not a reason to go to the er, but if you think it may have ruptured, that is a medical emergency and yes, if not cared for can be fatal.
