You can keep: There's no reason that you 'have to have' a period. If you can imagine it, before birth control many women were either pregnant or breastfeeding for the majority of their reproductive lives.... Thus not having periods that whole time. You may want to discuss with the doctor who prescribed you the medication, but there's really not a harm in not having a period. Hope that helps. ...Read more

Birth control mishap: Yes. If you are on BCP and you stop them, in 2 or 3 days you would likely have a period, but not if you are pregnant. If you are not trying to conceive, I recommend keeping condoms around for when you "mess up" on taking your BCPs. ...Read more

Why did you stop?: You were put on the pills to balance your hormones, so you would have regular menstruation. If you stopped them, particularly if any underlying condition not found yet, then you should go back exactly as before. Discuss this with your gyn in more detail. ...Read more

Weight loss: Weight loss can have many causes, anything from anorexia nervosa to lymphoma. The loss of your period may be related to the weight loss as well. There are many questions here. Are you trying to lose weight? Any night sweats or fatigue? Any history of recent travel? Any other associated symptoms?
