I have bronchitis and anxiety, I can't really tell the shortness of breath apart. Anything that sets the two apart?

It doesn't matter: The effects of shortness of breath are the same - regardless of the cause - the feelings are too. If you have bronchitis (diagnosed) this is probably the cause now. Flu; talk to doctor: U should not return to work until u r absolutely free of symptoms, as their is a risk of transmitting bronchitis to ur students. I assume u were tested for the flu; most bronchitis is viral in origin, & most viruses have no effective treatment. Most viruses run their course in 7 to 14 days. All u can do is hydrate, rest, get the influenza vaccine, & wait. Good luck, thanx for asking HealthTap! ...Read more

You will need a medical history, a physical examination to include auscultation of your lungs and you might need a chest xray as well. They will probably check your blood oxygen level and may also do some lab tests. Would play it safe and get evaluated at the emergency room, as there is a possibility that you could have pneumonia. Hope you feel better soon. ...Read more
