If I have pain in my ovarian region when I lift something heavy could it be a hernia?

If I have pain in my ovarian region when I lift something heavy could it be a hernia?

Yes, however: As with any abdominal pain, if persistent, severe, or recurrent, it needs to be evaluated by a physician: in this case, internist, gynecologist, or fp. There are a number of possibilities, and it may not be easy to diagnose (good physical exam, possibly vaginal or rectal exam, blood tests, perhaps sonogram needed). The history makes me think first of hernia, but no guessing. Have it checked out. ...Read more

Ovarian cyst? Hernia? Cancer? My lower right pelvic region is very tender and hurts. I feel some sort of bulge or mass when walking sitting coughin

Go see a doctor: A bulge in the lower abdomen is more like a Hernia especially if it gets bigger when you cough. Yet you will not be able to make a diagnosis with having a doctor examine you and perhaps run some tests, if needed. So go see your family doctor at once. ...Read more

No: Umbilical hernia and ovarian cancer are unrelated to each other. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. What foods can you eat if you have both an Ovarian Cyst, hernia and two spotings on the kidney and bm area organ?

What foods can you eat if you have both an Ovarian Cyst, hernia and two spotings on the kidney and bm area organ?

Healthy foods: I don't know of any foods that would affect an ovarian cyst. But definitely it seems that a lot of your health issues come from abdomen area. Make sure to eat a lot of fiber. I'm likely kale salads right now. Blueberries are another super food that's in season now. But fiber to keep your intestines regular is #1. Also stay well hydrated with water in these summer months. ...Read more

How common is it for within a year one CT states left ovarian cyst and 6 months later left inguinal fatty hernia no mention of ovarian cyst. Diff rad?

Cysts can change: Benign ovarian cysts can come and go, depending on where you are in your cycle and any past gyn conditions/medications.

Having said this, ultrasound imaging is generally a better test for ovary cysts than ct. It can be possible the second ct missed the cyst. ...Read more

Had chemo & debulk surgery for 4th stage ovarian cancer had 2 surgery for bowel obstruct now have hernia & bowel obstruction what's my life expectancy?

Variable: While the percentage of patients alive at five years from many stage 4 cancers is low, it is not zero, and you never know which group you are in as an individual. That doesn't mean to ignore the stats, but in the end, you are not a statistic, but an individual. It should be mostly about quality of life rather than quantity for most folks, so don't give up hope, and have an active say in your care. ...Read more

Finished chemo for stage iiia ovarian cancer in oct 2013. Ca125 was 8 6wks ago and 20 now have large right groin node. Is the ca125 jump a lot? Can incisional hernia cause lymph node to swell?

Seek medical exam: Your oncologist needs to know about this groin node if you have not yet told him. Since your ca 125 is still in the normal range, I would not draw any conclusions but your doctor needs to examine you and guide you. It is best not to follow your disease with ca125 right now as it will likely have such fluctuatiosns, causing you to be nervous and anxious, yet it does not help in making treatment decis. ...Read more

Complex ovarian cyst w/intern. Septations, submuc. Fibroids, nabothian cysts, liver cyst, hernia. All new w/in last 8 weeks. Possible cancer? Type?

Slow down a bit...: Ok, you have a lot of issues just recently identified. I'm doubtful you have any cancer. Your biggest concern appears to be the ovarian cyst, which is probably benign, but you need to be evaluated by your gyn. The hernia is an elective process, and the liver cyst is probably congenital. Fibroids and nabothian cyst can also be evaluated by your gyn. Take a breath and make an appointment. Good luck. ...Read more

I also also hav hernia it is not big bt it pain when I lift heavy thing, cough or sneez, or in long toilet. I don't want. Surgeory how can I treat it.

Hernia Truss: Or simply a "hernia belt, " is a device that can be worn around the waist with cushions that will help keep the hernia from popping out, causing your symptoms. I wouldn't recommend using this unless determined to be ok by your general surgeon. The surgery to repair a hernia works well, so you should give it serious consideration. ...Read more

Doctor thinks a lump on my torso is a hernia. Can I still go to the gym/lift heavy things?

No gym of lifting un: May have a hernia that is irreducible.
Lifting could enhance the situation by causing more herniation causing a loop of bowel to add to the herniation. The bowel blood supply may be compromised causing the bowel segment to die and leek and thus cause a mayor infection, septicemia etc.
emergency surgery will then be needed to take care of the problem and remove the dead intestine and attempt to r ...Read more

Is it true that someone with a lumbar hernia can lift max 30% of his weight? If not then what is a safe amount of kg to work with at the gym? Thanks!

No, not true at all: Lumbar disc herniations are actually very common and can be found in people with no back problems at all. So simply having a hernia does not necessitate any lifting restriction; the restriction depends very much on symptoms and varies widely from person to person.
Generally speaking, avoid activities that cause pain and slowly, cautiously increase exercise capacity within the limits of comfort. ...Read more
