Follow-up: Chronically swollen lymph nodes in the head and neck area are generally not due to a malignancy such as lymphoma or head and neck cancer. Chronic infection in the head and neck area could be a cause and there may be some lymphatic blockage causing the swelling. Go see an ENT doctor: It could be just repeated viral infections(colds) but you need to be sure that you do not have strept throat. A visit to your ENT doctor can help. If you want to try controlling it on your own, i wiould sugges that you try taking vitamin c, 500mg daily and give it a 6 month trial(it is pretty cheap vitamin). How big?: That is a good long time. In a young woman it could be hodgkin's disease even with minimal symptoms. In an older patient it could be indolent non-hodgkin's lymphoma. This is worst case, but may be deserving of some work-up. ...Read more
