I had a non displaced fracture to the lateral side of my talus with my cartiledge still intact on mar 31st. Just got back from my first successful run since the injury. Ankle felt fine during the run but now it is grinding when i move it. Not necessarily

Grinding is not good: As joint cartilage is worn away, the smooth lining covering the rough bone is lost. When the bone is exposed, the joint may not move smoothly. You may feel or even hear a grinding sensation. This means to me you start some arthritis in ankle joint. ...Read more

I broke a lot of bones in a ski accident including my humerus. When I broke that I stretched and tethered my radial nerve. It's about 40 days from the surgery and I have gained some movement and feeling back in my wrist but not near 100% percent. Still ca

COMMENTS: I will assume you wish to know prognosis regarding your radial nerve. Let's assume the nerve was not severed. If your insulation, myelin is all that was affected, you would have good recovery by 28 days, but sounds like some axonal impact, which recovers at speed of fingernail growth, about 0.1 mm daily. So, suggests it may take many months for maximal recovery. Take B complex, and do some PT. ...Read more

I was in a motorcycle accident 1.5 years ago causing many bones and a crushed spine which is fused I have shooting pain down my leg to my baby toe ?

Sciatica: I'm sorry to hear about your past injuries but back problems seem to have a way of returning. When pain 'shoots down the leg' it is a sign of a pinched sciatic nerve in the lower lumbar spine. Sciatica may occur after a back fusion due to scar tissue at the site or a bulging disc --1 level below the fusion. You need imaging studies (ct, ct myelogram or mri) to check for s1 nerve impingement. ...Read more

Enough to hold bone: Depending on what was used to fix your tibia, screws should engage the bone. Usually the tip of the screw may protrude a few millimeters. Because the tibia is a subcutaneous bone in certain areas (it is right under the skin), sometimes the tips of the screws can be symptomatic. After your bone is healed, you can discuss the appropriate time to remove screws if they are symptomatic. ...Read more

I : I assume someone has told you that you have a growth plate that may be scarred. What cold happen is that the bone with the scarred growth plate does not grow as quickly, in the proper direction or as long as it should if the growth plate were normal. What occurs due to that depends upon, the extent of the difference, what part of the body is affected and at what age it occurs relative to the end of normal skeletal growth for that particular bone. ...Read more

Osteoporosis: If you have osteoporosis and a fracture that was repaired with a plate, it is usually not necessary to remove the plate unless it starts to cause a problem.
