Can i eat after taking milk of magnesia being that i feel nauseous and can i take Zantac (ranitidine) too?

Yes: Milk of Magnesia (MOM) will coat your stomach and help loosen your stool, so it is often used in the setting of constipation or upset stomach. Zantac (ranitidine) is a histamine blocker medication that is used to reduce the stomach's secretion of gastric acid. What to do if I have a 4 day old infant, that I am breast and bottle feed. How can I completely empty the milk in my breast?

What to do if I have a 4 day old infant, that I am breast and bottle feed. How can I completely empty the milk in my breast?

Breastfeeding: If you have enough milk to exclusively breast feed no bottle feeding is needed. In 15 minutes of sucking the baby will empty the breast. If he/she is satisfied with only nursing on one side you can pump the other side and freeze it for future use. Pumping does not completely empty the breast like the suction from a baby but a good pump will do ok. ...Read more

Calcium: You need calcium not necessarily milk. Make sure you are getting 1500 mg of calcium daily through your diet. Your infant will take what it needs from you. You need to take enough so you don't become deficient. Take ( or get) 500 mg three times a day with meals. ...Read more

I am a vegetarian and i don't drink milk or have dairy products, so should I take a B12 supplement?

Absolutely: Vegetarianism is a moral choice, not one that actually promotes health. It is also extremely dangerous if you do not supplement. Get with a vegetarian-friendly physician or dietician who can guide you through the science and the disinformation. Vegetarians tend to become deficient in iron, calcium, vitamin D, and a few others. It's your health that's on the line. ...Read more

I have a 5 month old baby and i breastfeed . I have a urinary infection and i took Azo maxium relif and want to know if is safe to feed my baby?

Probably yes: The consensus is that nobody knows. Fortunately, it is a Class B teratogen risk, so studies of its use during pregnancy did not result in any untoward effects on developing fetus.http://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/phenazopyridine-oral-route/before-using/drg-20065473 The drug's half-life is 7.3 hours, so it will be entirely gone from your body by about 40 hours from your last dose. ...Read more

Which formula I should use for my three weeks baby so she can gain wait quickly nd it won't cause gas I am giving similac but I am not satisfied..

Talk to ped: You really need to talk to your pediatrician before playing around with formulas. There are indeed higher calorie options or ways to mix regular formula to make them higher claorie. But i'm concerned if a 3 w/o isn't gaining weight fast enough. You ned to be sure that it's from inadequate calories and not some other cause that needs attention. So many things could be going on at just 3 weeks! ...Read more

Could i take milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) 1 hour after overindulging in food?

Could i take milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) 1 hour after overindulging in food?

Milk of Mag: You could, yes, but to what end? MOM will create diarrhea but it will not diminish calorie digestion and absorption very much. Purging is not a "solution" -- if you over-indulge, exercise - walk - jog - cycle = burn calories, don't purge, please. Then try to change eating patterns: indulge in apples, pears, peaches, other fruits and vegetables; don't indulge in breads, starches, fats. ...Read more

Can someone tell me if milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) is bad to take for constipation?

Careful: With taking excess fiber, as too much fiber along with inadequate fluids can make the constipation worse. Milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) and a liquid diet only until passing stool is best. Then avoiding recurrent constipation requires 80-100 oz of caffeine free, alcohol free fluid daily with no more than 25 grams of fiber daily. If keeps recurring, you may need a colonoscopy if you haven't had one recently. ...Read more
