Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Am I more likely to get pregnant right after an abortion because of there cervix being open?

Am I more likely to get pregnant right after an abortion because of there cervix being open?

No: You are only able to get pregnant when you ovulate which has nothing to do with your cervix being open. Ovulation is an unpredictable event so start using contraception as soon as your health care provider says it is safe to resume sexual ntercourse unless you want to get pregnant again. ...Read more

Is it generally less difficult to get pregnant when your cervix is still open after an abortion?

NO: Your cervix should close immediately after an abortion- if the abortion is 'complete'. You can't get pregnant 'immediately' afterwards b/c your body won't be ovulating for a little while after the abortion occurs. ...Read more

How can I tell if my cervics is closed I haven't had a baby in 8 years and now I wanna try but I can't seem to get pregnant n had abortion 4 yrs ago?

See your OB/GYN: First, it would be highly unlikely for your cervix to be "open" without being pregnant. Your gynecologist should be able to assess your cervix by physical examination and direct visualization. If your doctor thinks it is necessary, an ultrasound examination can also assess your uterus, cervix and ovaries. ...Read more

I had 1 abortion 2 years ago.1 month ago medical report shows that uterus, cervix, endometrium are normal. How can I sure that I can pregnant safely?

Depends: I'm not sure what kind of "medical report" you had, possibly an ultrasound? If you have been pregnant before, then the assumption is that you should be able to get pregnant again unless something states otherwise. ...Read more

My obgyn said that my cervix is closed. I am trying to get pregnant. Should I let him open it? I'm 36.

Need more info: If you have gotten pregnant in the past, I do not see any reason why your cervix should be closed now. Did you have any cryosurgery or any surgery done on your cervix since your last pregnancy? Are you getting your menstrual cycles? If you are bleeding, I doubt your cervix is closed. Maybe you need to clarify the issue with your doctor. Good Luck. ...Read more

Guaranteed safe sex?: There are two guaranteed methods to not get pregnant after having had heterosexual relations. The first is for the woman to not have any functional ovaries. I have a fibroid by my cervix, I am planning to get an abortion. Will this cause complications?

I have a fibroid by my cervix, I am planning to get an abortion. Will this cause complications?

IT depends on where: And how big the fibroid is. Fibroids are typically inside the uterus, so as you say it is by the cervix there is certainly a risk of immense bleeding if a trocar or instrument is inserted into your cervix, which will happen if there is any instrumentation associated with abortion procedure. I would be very careful in making sure the healthcare provider performing this procedure has a strategy. ...Read more

Cervix open: Depending how far along you were when the procedure was performed the cerix may remain open for up to several days but will close on its on.
